William Petrick is the author of THE FIVE LOST DAYS, RANSOM FOR THE MANY and VIDEO VERITE, as well as numerous pieces of short fiction.
Petrick’s first novel, THE FIVE LOST DAYS (Pearhouse Press 2010), earned praise from television legends Bill Moyers and Linda Ellerbee. The Literature Chick remarked, “Petrick writes with a truly unique voice.” Moyers lists the novel as one his top ten recommended reading in 2010.
His novel was followed by a collection of short stories VIDEO VERITE AND OTHER STORIES (Pearhouse Press 2011). Many of the stories had been previously published in magazines. The Seattle Post-Intelligencer said “These powerful tales will give you much to think about and will remain with you long after you’ve put the book away.”
His short fiction has appeared in a variety of literary journals, including Confrontation, Worcester Review, Palo Alto Review and The Distillery.
Petrick is also an Emmy-Award winning documentarian, with a Peabody Award Nomination. As a filmmaker, he has created programs for National Geographic, Discovery, MTV, Court TV, and many other cable and broadcast networks.
Previous to his work in film and television, he was a Press Officer for the United Nations in New York. Petrick lives with his family in Brooklyn, New York.
